UPDATE: Three Caerphilly men charged with murder of Tony Singh

Gwent Police is continuing to question four men in connection with the death of 24-year-old Tony Singh

Mr Singh was discovered at his flat in Bryngwyn Road, Newport on the evening of Monday November 15.

The men aged 31, 35, 36 and 39, all from the Caerphilly area, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jones, who is leading the investigation, said: “I believe Tony was the victim of a violent attack in the area of Clytha Park Road in Newport, near to his flat, at approximately 8pm on Thursday November 11. It’s believed he has then walked back to his flat, where we know he was later found deceased on Monday November 15.

“I have officers in that area carrying out enquiries again today and I would urge anyone who saw Tony to contact us – they could have vital information that could assist us with enquiries.”

Tests are continuing to establish the cause of death, however initial indications are that Mr Singh died from head injuries.

The last corroborated sighting of him is when a taxi dropped him off near to Sunhealth Gym on Stow Hill in Newport between 11.30am and midday on Thursday November 11.

Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
