Ystrad Mynach craft business given funding for new equipment

An Ystrad Mynach business which produces bespoke timber designs continues to go from strength-to-strength after it received grant funding throughCaerphilly County Borough Council.

Craft Wales, based on the Dyffryn Business Park, manufactures and installs bespoke products mostly made from locally-sourced Welsh timber.

The business was awarded a Local Investment Fund grant towards the purchase of a piece of equipment called a ‘CNC Router’, which will enable the business to improve the range and quality of products it makes.

Cllr Ron Davies, cabinet member for regeneration and planning said: “Since it was established in 2006, Craft Wales has gone from strength to strength and continues to be a shining example of what can be achieved, even in this challenging economic times.”

Paul Hogg, director of Craft Wales, said: “We are extremely thankful for all the support we have received from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Advisory Services team. The Local Investment Fund has undoubtedly enabled us to move into a new market sector which we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to.”

  • The Local Investment Fund is available to 15 local authorities across West Wales and the Valleys Convergence region, including six local authorities in South East Wales.They have been awarded EU Funding through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), delivered through the Welsh Assembly Government, to provide grant funding to assist businesses within their areas.
