Two members of staff at a Caerphilly-based back-to-work scheme have won awards for their hard work.

Caerphilly based JobMatch employee Zoe Pearce was congratulated for her outstanding contribution to her team and her colleague Sian Woolson was also commended at the JobMatch Staff Awards held at the Millennium Stadium last month.

JobMatch is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Social Fund and has helped thousands of jobseekers from the Heads of the Valleys area to learn new skills to find work.

Zoe was awarded the title of Caerphilly Team Player as a result of her commitment in helping people find work. Sian’s award recognised her work in dealing with companies looking for staff.

Speaking at the JobMatch Staff Awards, Steve Dobson, Performance and Communications Manager at JobMatch said: “The aim of the Awards is to recognise and reward the individuals and businesses who have worked extremely hard to make the JobMatch programme officially one of the best unemployment initiatives in the UK.

“We believe in recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our teams and their members. Their hard work, effort and enthusiasm continue to be the driving force for JobMatch providing innovative and flexible approaches for people to get back in to employment, while fulfilling the needs and skills requirements of employers in the local area.”

Grant Santos, Operations Director at Award sponsors Educ8 said: “At Educ8 we work closely with the JobMatch offices to help coordinate training for participants who are seeking employment within the Health and Social Care sectors.

“We feel that JobMatch is a fantastic initiative that is helping many individuals back in to sustainable employment, and we are very happy to be working alongside their teams of dedicated and supportive staff to reduce the levels of unemployment throughout South East Wales. We are very happy to be supporting the great work carried out by the JobMatch initiative.”
