Tesco’s Norman Reaney, who lives in St Cenydd Road, is a finalist in the Welsh Contact Centre Awards

Mr Reaney, 41, who is originally from Scotland, has been nominated in the Best Manager of Over 100 People category. He has worked at Tesco for ten years following a previous job with the Dundee Tourist Board and a nine-year career in the Army.

The awards, which have been running for 13 years, honours the efforts those working within the Welsh contact centre industry.

Mr said: “I lead people by treating them how I’d want to be treated. Our culture is that no-one tries harder for their customers and that’s particularly important in these times. It’s pleasing to be nominated for this award and I look forward to working even harder for our customers in 2011.”

The awards will be held at Cardiff’s City Hall on Thursday, February 17.
