Pupils from Ysgol Y Lawnt cooked show off their healthy breakfast menu

For the second year, cookery club members from the Caerphilly County Borough have reached the South Wales heat of the Urdd Eisteddfod competition for primary schools, having come second in the Gwent heat in Gwynllyw last month.

Pupils from Ysgol Y Lawnt, in Rhmney, cooked a healthy breakfast menu of fruit salad, blueberry muffins and a smoothie

Caerphilly Healthy Schools has trained 39 schools to run cookery clubs. The clubs are run during lunch hours or after school by parent volunteers and school cooks and staff.

For further information on cookery clubs in your area or to attend a training session, please contact the local Healthy Schools Team on 01443 864947
