Five people were taken to hospital with injuries yesterday after a two-car crash.
The collision between a blue Vauxhall Frontera and black Renault Megane happened at 5.25pm on Sunday on the A468 Newport Road in Trethomas.
The drivers from both cars, one man and one woman, were taken to hospital. A male passenger and two children travelling in the Vauxhall were also taken to hospital.
Gwent Police has said the injuries suffered to all are not life-threatening.
The Megane driver remains in the Royal Gwent Hospital while male passenger and female driver of the Frontera remain in the Heath Hospital, Cardiff.
The road was temporarily closed for three-and-a-half hours while emergency services were in attendance.
