Entrants are being sought for this year’s Great Cheese Race at the Big Cheese.
Organisers are looking for teams to sign up and join the opening celebrations of the weekend on the evening of Friday July 27.
Children and adults are encouraged to take part in the fun run around a special course which takes runners around the grounds of Caerphilly Castle – fancy dress is also allowed.
Every year teams of four line-up to take part in the race which is part of the opening celebrations.
The race is a great way to raise sponsorship for your school, club, society or special cause. Last year organisers had a record number of entries.
The Great Cheese Race has been especially themed to coincide with the Olympic opening ceremony in London, which is being broadcast via a big screen at the main event site and celebrated with an Olympic Parade at 7pm. All competitors are encouraged to embrace the Olympic spirit and take inspiration from Olympic countries and add their colours into their fancy dress.
