A team from Brace’s Bakery is preparing to put their pedal power to the test to raise money for a children’s charity.

Members of senior management from Crumlin-based Brace’s are in training for the gruelling Carten 100 Cycle Ride which covers the 100 miles from Cardiff to Tenby in a single day.

Sales and marketing director Scott Richardson, account manager Steve Chapman and general manager Richard Mynott are hoping to raise £4,000 for charity The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Carten 100 takes roughly ten hours to complete and is being held on Saturday May 12

Brace’s team of Senior Management has already raised nearly half of their target.

Type 1 diabetes is increasing in children, the cause is unknown and there is no known preventative measure.

Scott Richardson said: “The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is a charity that means a lot to us here at Brace’s. It’s heartbreaking to hear of the lack of funding for this mysterious and all-too common condition, which can be life-changing. We are keen to raise as much money as possible. As ever, many of our suppliers and customers have been hugely supportive of our fundraising so far.”
