A funeral company has picked up its second prestigious business award in six months.

Caerphilly Funeral Services, based in at Crossways, Caerphilly, has been awarded the title of Regional Funeral Planner of the Year 2012 from funeral plan provider Golden Charter.

The award recognises Caerphilly Funeral Services’ dedication and commitment to providing an outstanding service to its local community.

The company was judged as regional winner from over 2,600 funeral businesses in the UK.

Ronnie Wayte, Managing Director of Golden Charter said: “This is the 19th year of these awards, and each year it becomes more difficult to choose a winner.

“Through these awards Golden Charter celebrate personal excellence and professional commitment in one of the most difficult and challenging areas of serving the public.

“Caerphilly Funeral Services Ltd has set a very high standard and we are delighted to recognise this tremendous achievement.”

The award was received by Caerphilly Funeral Services’ Dean Thomas and Gareth Coles at a national awards ceremony in Newcastle.

The Golden Charter Award follows the company being recognised as an Investors In People organisation in October last year.

The Investors In People award recognises a company’s effort to look after its employees and ensure they are at their best.

Dean Thomas, of Caerphilly Funeral Services, said: “These two awards demonstrate how our local business has been recognised as having high standards in the way we meet the needs of the community and the way in which we manage and develop staff.

“Having been established for almost 25 years, we pride ourself on our high levels of care, personal service and quality.

“These two awards in such a short space of time demonstrate publicly how we are achieving the needs of the families that we have the privilege of serving both at the time when they need our services most and also when planning in advance to provide themselves with peace of mind.”
