Environment Agency Wales is advising people to remain alert for possible localised flooding as more unsettled weather is forecast this week.
A band of heavy rainfall is expected to affect the whole of south Wales on Wednesday morning, moving north to affect parts of mid Wales throughout the afternoon and again on Thursday morning.
The ground is already reportedly saturated from last week’s heavy rainfall, and further rainfall may cause rivers to rise quickly.
This may lead to flood alerts and flood warnings being issued.
Over the last week Agency officers have been checking flood defences, and clearing blocked drains and culverts to reduce the risk of flooding.
The Agency is advising people to listen to local weather and traffic reports and updates on the radio or TV, or if able to, view the latest information on the Met Office website.
Care should also be taken as driving conditions may be hazardous, and people should listen to traffic reports for advice and for any disruption locally.
People are reminded that flood water can be extremely dangerous, and under no circumstances should people attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
