Cwmcarn Primary School pupils demonstrate artistic talents

Pupils at Cwmcarn Primary School showed their artistic talents to Islwyn MP Chris Evans and senior management of packaging firm Smurfit Kappa as they took part in a poster competition to promote European Safety Day.

After designing their own safety themed poster, the pupils were invited to Smurfit Kappa’s Abercarn site to display their work and help promote safety amongst the company’s workforce.

The three winning designs were then presented with certificates by Mr Evans and Smurfit’s Operations Director Graham Wallis.

Mr Evans said: “I was delighted to team up with pupils from Cwmcarn Primary to help promote safety in the workplace.

“Although all of the entries were fantastic, the three winning posters were exceptional and the pupils were delighted that their posters will now be on display in one of Abercarn’s major businesses.”
