A 29-year-old motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a hit and run incident in Abertridwr.

The collision between a Honda CB 600 motorcycle and a silver Vauxhall Astra happened on Friday May 11 at 11.30pm at Graig Y Fedw, Abertridwr, outside the Quarry Garage.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist who’s from the Abertridwr area, was taken to University hospital Wales Cardiff where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Vauxhall did not stop at the scene and drove off towards Caerphilly.

The vehicle, which is described as being a newer Astra model, was fitted with distinctive blue LED lights below the front number plate and is expected to have visible damage to the rear offside body panel.

Officers are appealing for the driver or anyone who has any information about the collision to contact Gwent Police by dialing 101.
