Get your heart rate checked during Heart Rhythm Week

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Wednesday May 16th, 2012.

Cardiac Rehabilitation staff at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr will be hosting a series of pulse checks for people as part of Heart Rhythm Week – being held between May 21 and May 27.

The week gives the opportunity for health professionals to raise awareness and promote a better understanding of heart rhythm disorders.

Pamela Jones, specialist nurse in cardiac rehabilitation, said: “This year, the theme of patient empowerment, ‘Your Heart in Your Hands’ aims to encourage members of the public to recognise symptoms of heart rhythm disorders and advise when they should seek further advice from a healthcare professional. By popping in for just a few minutes we can give you all the help and advice you need.”

Staff from Cardiac Rehabilitation will be available in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr on the Ground Floor, opposite main reception, every afternoon from Monday May 21 through to Friday May 25 between 1.30pm and 4pm.

For more information please contact the cardiac rehabilitation team on 01443 802265.
