A teenager has been jailed for attempted robbery after he walked into a garage and threatened a shop worker with a knife.
Jordan Lee Harding, 17, of Llanfabon Drive, Trethomas, was sentenced on Monday at Newport Crown Court to 18 months detention and training after admitting attempted robbery and having a bladed article.
He must serve half of the 18-month sentence while a 12-week sentence for possession of a bladed article will run concurrently.
Harding walked into the Murco petrol station on St Cenydd Road, Trecenydd, in the early hours of December 14 2011 and demanded money while waving a knife.
Nothing was taken in the raid.
