Tir-Y-Berth Primary School gains Investors in People award

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:00, Friday June 8th, 2012.

Tir-Y-Berth Primary School has become one of only three schools in Wales to be awarded a Silver Investors in People award

The school has held Investors in People since 2003, and was recently recognised for their skills in people management with the Silver award.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has praised the school and said the recognition places it as one of the leading organisations of best people management practice in the UK.

Sian Clemens, headteacher of Tir-Y-Berth Primary School, said, “I am very proud to have achieved the Investors in People Silver Award, as it shows how well we work as a team.

“Since I joined the school in 2008, my aim has been to build a strong collaborative team, with the collective aim of providing the best education and opportunities for all children within a happy environment.

“I’m lucky I have an excellent team, who work well together and put the children’s interests at the forefront of everything they do. This award highlights the strengths of having a core purpose and valuing each other and the contributions that everyone makes to achieve our aims.”

Cllr Rhiannon Passmore, the council’s cabinet member for education and lifelong learning, praised the school and said: “The achievements made by the staff at Tir-Y-Berth Primary demonstrate the very high commitment of our staff to best management practices, which filter through to teaching practice, allowing our children the best possible education and opportunities for their future.”
