More than 50 people took part in the walk in Bargoed

More than 50 people took part in a charity walk to raise cash for Kidney Wales Foundation.

The ‘Walk for Life’ started on Sunday May 27 at 11am from Heolddu Leisure Centre in Bargoed and ended at Penallta Rugby Club.

The final sum raised will be known later this month

Kidney Wales Foundation’s ‘Walk for Life’ is an annual event with dozens of Walks up and down the length of Wales.

Caerphilly AM Jeff Cuthbert took part in the Bargoed walk.

He said: “I’ve been doing this walk for many years now and I was very pleased to be invited to take part once again to raise money for this honourable cause. This year the route was reversed so it was downhill, and with the beautiful sunny weather it was a fantastic excuse to get out and get some fresh air.

“Congratulations to everyone who took part, there’s no doubt about the participants commitment and spirit. Many thanks to the organiser Lynne Edwards, who has again ensured a safe and successful walk.”
