Bargoed councillor Tudor Davies has been appointed the new chairman of the South Wales Fire and Rescue Authority.
He was elected to the position at the authority’s AGM earlier this month alongside Rhondda Cynon Taf councillor Steven Bradwick who was elected deputy chairman.
Cllr Davies, who represents Bargoed on Caerphilly County Borough Council, said “South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is a high performing organisation that helps thousands of members of the public every day when exposed to the risks and the dangers that befall many of us during our lives.
“I am incredibly proud to have been elected as chairman. To be the chairman of such an organisation is a great honour and I will work with my colleagues to continue to take the organisation forward and providing our communities with a first class service.”
