The Community Safety team at Caerphilly County Borough Council has recruited a new Community Safety Warden.

Jenna Baldwin has been recruited by the council to join its team of wardens who act as the eyes and ears of the community. She will undertake uniformed patrols, providing the county borough’s streets, parks, playgrounds and estates with a high profile presence.

She said: “I am pleased to join a team that makes such a huge difference to the residents of the borough. In addition to helping tackle antisocial behaviour, we are here to support and reassure the community, so that they can feel safe going about their day-to-day lives.”

The Community Safety Wardens work alongside police in providing support to residents and act as a deterrent against anti-social behaviour in the community. They also have the authority to issue fixed penalty notices for environmental issues, such as fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling offences.

Cllr Dave Poole, cabinet member for community and leisure services, said: “I would like to personally welcome Jenna to the team. I am sure she will prove a great addition to the patrols that the Wardens undertake in their effort to look after the best interests of all the residents in our borough.”
