Speaking ahead of the closing ceremony of the Paralympics tonight, he has praised the performance and dedication of Welsh competitors who have played their part in Paralympic GB’s hugely impressive medal haul.
The First Minister also reminded people that there will be a homecoming event for Welsh members of both Paralympics GB and Team GB in Cardiff on Friday 14th September.
The First Minister said: “With these Paralympic Games, Wales has proven once again we are a truly great nation for disabled sport. Welsh competitors have been central to Paralympic GB’s success – making a vital contribution to the exceptional medal haul.
“Our Paralympians have shown super-human strength and dedication to become world-class athletes and make it to the greatest sporting stage there is. What they have achieved is an inspiration to all of us.
“I call on everyone who can, to try and make it to the homecoming event next week for both our Paralympic and Olympic heroes. It is an opportunity to show them just how proud we are.”
