Coleg Gwent students raise £200 for charity Macmillan

Catering students studying at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus hosted a coffee morning and raffle as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Coleg Gwent students whisked, baked and poured their way to raising over £200 for cancer support at a recent charity event.

Catering students studying at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus hosted a coffee morning and raffle as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Students and staff at the campus donated generously to the cause whilst being served tea, coffee and a delicious array of cakes and treats made by catering students in the campus restaurant Morels.

The final total raised reached £210.85. Catering Lecturer Caroline Davies said: “Thanks to everyone who took part by attending the event or buying raffle tickets. It was brilliant to see so much support for a great cause.”

  • Staff at Barclays Bank in Risca raised £600 for Macmillan with its own coffee morning. Staff were joined by Islwyn MP Chris Evans.
