Changes to bus services in Bargoed town centre, effective from Monday November 5, have been announced.
Between Mondays to Fridays, and until midday on Saturdays, all bus routes (except X38) will serve the new interchange. The stop at the Post Office will be taken out of use after the last bus on Sunday November 4 and replaced by a new bus stop outside the Old Hanbury Arms.
On Mondays to Fridays and until midday on Saturdays:
Routes 1, 2 and 3 will operate to the Interchange first and then serve Old Hanbury Arms and Royal Square when leaving Bargoed.
Most buses on routes 14, 27, 50, C9 and C17 can be boarded at Old Hanbury Arms and Royal Square as they arrive in Bargoed and remain on the bus until it reaches the Interchange.
Some early morning buses on these routes will start at Bargoed Interchange and will not serve Old Hanbury Arms or Royal Square. Please use Bargoed Interchange if unsure.
C18 will start at Bargoed Interchange, serve the Old Hanbury Arms, Royal Square and The Plasnewydd on journeys towards Gilfach Estate, and serve Old Hanbury Arms and Royal Square when returning to the Interchange.
Route X38 will serve Old Hanbury Arms and Royal Square only.
After midday on Saturdays and all day Sundays:
All buses (including route X38) will operate to/from the Interchange and not serve stops in the Old Hanbury Arms, Royal Square or The Plasnewydd.
I would like to voice my concern over the idiotic idea that you can run a bus service through now an even narrower bargoed town than before.if the local council are going to try and squeeze these buses between cars parked everywhere, pavements and loading bays, then may i suggest bringing back the buslers,as anyone who lives in bargoed will tell you every bus that pushes its way through the town carry on average 8 to 10 people and thats no lie. why spend all that money on a new bus station when only one bus uses it.wot a load of tosh…
