Caerphilly business consultancy S A Partners eyes HSBC prize

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Monday November 26th, 2012.

A Caerphilly-based business consultancy has made it through to the final 30 of a UK-wide competition backed by bank HSBC.

S A Partners, based at Castlegate Business Park, has been put forward to South West and Wales Regional final of the bank’s Global Connections scheme – which aims to find the UK’s most “forward-thinking” firms.

The company, which specialises in making businesses efficient through a process called Lean thinking, is battling against five other firms on April 17, 2013, for two places in the UK final. The overall winning company will win £240,000 and a week in Singapore on an International Exchange trip

During the last 12 months, S A Partners has developed businesses North America and Australasia. It plans expansions in Asia, Middle East and South America in the future.

Gary Burton, HSBC Regional Commercial Director for the South West and Wales, said: “We’ve been astounded by the quality and commitment of entrants to this initiative. The businesses that have taken part have demonstrated that the UK’s entrepreneurialism and innovative spirit are still thriving, despite challenges presented by the recent economic climate.

“More than ever Welsh businesses are talking to me about how international opportunities are critical to the future success of their businesses and at HSBC we’re proud to support them on their international journey.”

S A Partners Managing Director Robin Jaques said the trip to Singapore would be invaluable to his company.

He said: “Visiting markets to understand the dynamics of different business cultures is at the core of us being successful in a global economy. We aim to develop a growing, profitable and fantastic business to work in, but we also want to be recognised for a significant contribution to the health and performance of our client base.”
