Hazardous roads warning after more snow

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 07:48, Wednesday January 23rd, 2013.

Motorists have been warned of hazardous conditions on the roads after more snow overnight.

South East Wales has seen the heaviest snowfall with 10cm in places.

There are no reported problems with either Stagecoach bus services or Arriva Trains Wales. Speed restrictions are in place on the M4 around Cardiff and Newport, and on the old Severn Bridge.

Poor road conditions have been reported on the A465 Heads Of The Valleys road and Caerphilly Mountain Road has been closed.

An amber warning of snow across Caerphilly County Borough is due to be lifted at 9am Wednesday.

still no sign of snow plough in newbridge it is left to traffic to clear it. The bus route outside the villas and labour club is very hazardous. What happens if a bus slides, hits the railings and tumbles past toy town down into the traffic lights. It does not bear thinking about it is totally unacceptable.”

We need the snow plough here yet again! At the end of the day bus routes should be ploughed and gritted for the safety of the passengers and drivers rather than certain councillors and AM's having their roads done.
