Partnership formed to foster arts and crafts in Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 10:00, Thursday May 16th, 2013.

A new partnership to foster arts and crafts in Caerphilly County Borough has been formed with help from Caerffili Cwm a Mynydd RDP Team.

Valleys T8 is a group of artists including fine artists and crafters working in the medium of paint, sculpture, ceramic, wood work and print.

Their aim is to bring quality art and craft work to all areas of the county borough by using the pop-up method of exhibiting and demonstrating their work in empty spaces, such as shop windows and other unused spaces within buildings.

The group who have just signed their constitution are about to embark on month long residency at Blackwood Indoor Market showcasing their work.

The group are the first co-operative to form from the Timber and Craft network established by Caerfilli Cwm a Mynydd. These business networks have been established to spawn co-operative working between micro-businesses so they can work together on purchasing and marketing.
