Gwent Police is investigating allegations of historic physical and sexual abuse which are alleged to have occurred in the Caerphilly and Aberfan areas.
As part of this investigation a 55-year-old man from the Lansbury Park area and a 44-year-old woman from the New Tredegar area have been arrested today.
They remain in police custody at this time assisting officers with their inquiry. Anyone with any concerns or information is asked to ring 101.
