Three men have charged with possession of an imitation firearm after an incident in Caerphilly town centre on Thursday.

At around 2.45pm on August 29, Gwent Police received reports from members of the public that a number of men, in a light green Volkswagon Golf, had what looked like a firearm.

A 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old man have both been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, driving whilst disqualified, driving a vehicle without a driving licence and driving with no insurance.

All the men are from the Caerphilly area and are due to appear at Caerphilly Magistrates’ Court on Saturday August 31.
