Caerphilly Hear to Meet group launched

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Wednesday September 4th, 2013.

A new monthly group supporting people with hearing problems has launched.

Caerphilly Hear to Meet is held the first Tuesday of every month at St Helen’s RC Church Hall, Caerphilly, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

The group will be a free and friendly chance to meet new people and share information. At this month’s meeting, on September 10, there will also be an equipment demonstration with Simon Haisman from Action on Hearing Loss.

Hear to Meet is a project funded by the Big Lottery that aims to establish social get-togethers for adults with a hearing loss across Wales. With 14 groups already successfully running, Caerphilly is the latest area to benefit..

Stephanie Johnson, Hear to Meet Co-ordinator explained: “Hear to Meet has already proven to be a vital service for people across Wales and we are delighted to be able to run an additional group in Caerphilly. We really need to hear the views of local people with a hearing loss and find out how best we can support them in their community so we’d like to encourage people to come along.
