Caerphilly County Borough Remembrance Services 2013

This weekend, people across Caerphilly County Borough will pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in military conflict.

Below are some of the events taking place:

  • The Twyn, Caerphilly – Friday November 8 at 11am.
  • Pontllanfraith Council Offices – Saturday November 9 at 1.30pm.
  • Oakdale – Sunday November 10 at 11am – Service and laying of wreaths at Oakdale Memorial at 11am.
  • St Margaret’s Church, Blackwood – Sunday November 10 at 10am – Service followed by laying of wreaths at Blackwood Memorial at 11am.
  • St Thomas’ Church, Cefn Fforest –  Sunday November 10 at 10am – Service followed by parade to Cenotaph for laying of wreaths at 11am.
  • Maesycwmmer – Sunday November 10, 12.30pm – Service and laying of wreaths at Maesycwmmer Community Garden, The Crescent.
  • Caerphilly Town – Sunday November 10, 2.15pm – Parade from St Martin’s Church, Caerphilly followed – service and laying of wreaths at Caerphilly War Memorial, the Twyn at 3pm.
  • Llanbradach – Sunday November 10, 10.30am – Parade from Central Car Park to Cenotaph for service and laying of wreaths.
  • Abertysswg – Sunday November 10, 10am – Service and laying of wreaths at memorial.
  • Rhymney – Sunday November 10, 11am –  Service and laying of wreaths at memorial.
  • Pengam – Sunday November 10, 11am – Short service and laying of wreaths at St David’s Cenotaph followed by main service at St David’s Church.
  • Cwmfelinfach – Sunday November 10, 11.45am – Service and laying of wreaths at Glanynant Memorial Garden.
  • Wyllie Cenotaph – Sunday November 10, 12pm – Service ad laying of wreaths.
  • Gelligaer, Sunday November 10, 10.45 – Service and laying of wreaths at St Cattwg’s Church.
  • Tiryberth, Sunday November 10, 10.45am – Service and laying of wreaths at memorial in Churchfield Close.
  • Cwmcarn,  Sunday November 10, 10am – Service and laying of wreaths at memorial.
  • Abercarn,  Sunday November 10, 11am – Service and laying of wreaths at Cenotaph
  • Deri,  Sunday November 10, 11am – Service and laying of wreaths at memorial.
  • Pontlottyn,  Sunday November 10, 10am – Service at St Tyfaelog’s Church followed by parade to memorial for laying of wreaths.
  • Aberbargoed,  Sunday November 10, 10am – Service at St Peter’s Church followed by parade to memorial for laying of wreaths.
  • Risca,  Sunday November 10, 10.15am – Parade from Rifleman Street to Cenotaph for service and laying of wreaths.
  • Ystrad Mynach,  Sunday November 10, 9.30am – Service at Holy Trinity Church Hall followed by parade to Cenotaph at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr for service and laying of wreaths.
  • Blackwood’s Market Place, Monday November 11, 11am – Armistice Day Service, no wreaths.
  • Risca,  Monday November 11, 10.30am – Short service at Cenotaph adjacent to Risca Police Station followed by laying of wreaths.
