Police warning after spate of burglaries across Caerphilly County Borough

Gwent Police has reminded Caerphilly Borough residents to remain vigilant following reports of recent home burglaries in the Lansbury Park, Penyrheol and Energlyn areas of Caerphilly town and the Fleur-de-Lis and Nelson areas.

Most of the burglaries have taken place during the daytime with items of jewellery being the preferred choice of thieves.

Anyone with information, or who knows who is handling the stolen goods, should contact Detective Sergeant Ian Bartholomew at Blackwood Police Station on 101.

    What do you all axpect.The dwp has been cutting and even stopping giving benefits.

    The only people that are living the life are drug dealers and illegal money lenders and believe me its going to get much worse. Cardilff prison is full to the brim.

    Getting a job in Caerphilly is impossible ,its not what you know but who you know today .Many ,many crimes has not hit the news papers .Going to get much worse.

    What so that gives people the right to steal from others that do work? There are jobs maybe not in caerphilly. Some people just too damned lazy to work choosing instead to steal from hard working people!

    These people doing the breaking are Druggies getting money to fund their habit.

    It's nothing to do with unemployment .

    Prison is far too soft that's why loads of offenders return .

    Too many so called scrap metal traders driving around looking for opportunities, looking to see what houses are empty, what houses are an easy target.Get these off our streets and these robberies will go down. The police and CPS are too soft, I was burgled and lost over £2000 worth of goods, the person who burgled me got 16 weeks!

    Some Scrappies are now using vans to avoid the police.

    It's a joke the prison sentence they get plus the fact it's cushy inside prison.
