A police officer has appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting three women while working as a custody sergeant at Ystrad Mynach.
Richard Owen Evans, 50, of The Highway, New Inn, Pontypool, appeared before Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday February 27.
Evans was released on bail to appear before the court for a plea and case management hearing on April 24.
A Gwent Police spokesman said: “Richard Evans, a serving Gwent Police officer from the Ystrad Mynach area has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and two of misconduct in public office.
“He has been suspended from his post since January 2013.”
