Three Gwent Police officers arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice

Three Gwent police officers have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

The three men, two from Caerphilly and one from Newport, have been released on police bail.

The officers were arrested on Thursday, February 6 and suspended from duty.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is now leading the investigation.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “As a result of a Gwent Police professional standard-led investigation, three male police constables, two of whom live in the Caerphilly Borough area and one from the Newport area, have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“The arrests took place on Thursday, February 6.

“All three officers have been suspended from duty.

“The investigation was referred to the IPCC who will supervise the investigation.”

    Probably suspended on full pay just like Caerphilly county borough council officers on taxpayers money if found guilty this money should be paid back
