A Nelson women has won more than £81,000 after calling house for the first time while playing bingo.

Tracey Evans visited Castle Bingo, in Nantgarw, on February 23 with sister Barbara Morris-Brown scooped a grand total of £81,206.50.

The 39-year-old mother and IT worker has said she plans to share the winnings with her sister and mother Hilda.

The prize-sum is extra large due to a new national game. Tracey not only called house on a ‘lucky star’ number, but was also the first to shout “house” out of everyone playing across the country.

This meant she scooped both the £25,000 national prize and the £56,000 progressive jackpot prize too.

Adding in-house prize money to Tracey’s win takes her total winnings passed the £81,000 mark.

The win comes after a terrible year for Tracey after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now clear of the disease after finishing radiotherapy treatment before Christmas.

The prize cheque was presented to Tracey at a special winner’s party on March 2 where, along with family and friends, she received VIP treatment, while all players were treated to a free meal and bubbly.
