Caerphilly Observer has been immortalised in a new mural designed by primary school pupils.

Libanus Primary School is marking its centenary next year and ahead of the celebrations has unveiled an artistic look back over the years.

The 40ft school yard mural was created by Blackwood artist Stacey Brass and is based on a series of designs by pupils featuring scenes from the school’s past.

During World War Two, 58 evacuees were taught at Libanus and this is reflected with a front page story on a special edition of Caerphilly Observer.

The mural was unveiled by Caerphilly County Borough Mayor Michael Gray on March 28.
