Two people taken to hospital after crash in Ynysddu

Two people were taken to hospital after their car, a grey Rover MG, crashed into a tree.

Police are appealing for information following the crash which happened last night, Monday May 5, at around 11.55pm on the A4048 at Ynysddu.

A 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-man, both from the local area, were taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital with serious injuries. Gwent Police said they both remain there at this time in a stable condition.

The road was temporarily closed following the collision but has since been reopened.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting log 594 05/05/14.
