Almost 2,000 people celebrated the 20th Megaday on August Bank Holiday weekend at Caerphilly RFC.
The annual festival has raised over £250,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre since 1995 and this year started with a night of hits from the West End on Saturday August 23.
Megaday organisers have said due to the success of the musical evening, and demand from those who attended, something very similar can be promised for next year.
On Sunday August 24, 12 live bands hit the stage and videos and photos of previous Megadays were shown on a huge outdoor screen and 250 balloons were released, one for every £1,000 raised over the last 19 years.
The DJs played to a crowd in the clubhouse and headliners and long-term supporters of Megaday Tab 80 entertained a full marquee.
The night ended with a spectacular firework display as a tribute to Andrew Nichols and Paul Grahame, who the festival is dedicated to after they lost their lives to cancer.
Organiser Peter Hopkins said: “Many of the regular attendees to Megaday commented that for them it is the best weekend of the year and those attending for the first time were asking themselves why they had not been before.
“The success of Megaday is down to the support of volunteers, businesses and the good people of Caerphilly and the surrounding areas.
“Megaday is as possible as ever, an event that is firmly established in the Caerphilly calender.
“Since 1995, Megaday has provided the opportunity for the community to have a great time, remember lost loved ones and has now raised close to £275,00 for Velindre Cancer Centre.”
Nicola Hewer, 50, of Caerphilly, said: “We go most years and this year a gang of us girls went and I enjoyed it more than ever.
“The bands were really good, it was was great value for money and there was a great atmosphere. Fun was had by all.
“The firework display was a really emotional end to the night. I saw on or two people shedding a tear.”
