The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales has praised the White Rose Information and Resource Centre in New Tredegar following two recent visits there by her team.
The commissioner’s team spent time singing, knitting and chatting with older people, finding out about the ways that the centre helps them to stay in touch with friends and enables them to offer support to each other through their weekly gatherings.
The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, Sarah Rochira, said: “Having things to do and things to look forward to are so important to help older people to maintain their health, independence and wellbeing.
“That is why places like the White Rose Information and Resource Centre play a vital role by providing social activities for older people.”
