Police appeal after attempted robbery in Bargoed

News | | Published: 10:24, Tuesday November 11th, 2014.

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in the Bargoed area.

A 34-year-old man was walking along Bristol Terrace when he was approached from behind by approximately three boys. They attempted to take a large cardboard box from the victim which contained a Play Station 4.

The attack happened at around 6.20pm on Friday November 7.

During the incident the victim was punched to the face, pulled to the floor and kicked. He sustained swelling and reddening to the face and soreness to the body. He did not require hospital treatment.

The offenders were disturbed during the incident by a man and woman travelling in a blue vehicle. Officers are keen to speak to these people in case they can assist further with the investigation. They are asked to call 101 quoting log 378 07/11/14.

Three boys, aged 14 and 16 from Maesycwmmer and aged 17 from Bargoed, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

The 14 and 16-year-olds have been released on police bail pending further enquiries. The 17-year-old remains in police custody.
