A woman in a wheelchair was slapped in the face and robbed by two men on a footpath in Caerphilly.

The woman, who was travelling over a bridge in her electric wheelchair, had her phone stolen during the attack.

Two males were loitering on the footpath when one slapped her across her face and snatched her phone out of her hand at around 12.45pm yesterday, November 12.

The robbery happened on the footpath known as Gypsy Lane, to the rear of Elm Road.

Her attacker and companion ran off in the direction of Elm Grove.

The male who assaulted her is described as about 17 year old of slim build and was wearing a dark blue denim jacket. His companion was of similar height and build, wearing dark coloured clothing.

If anyone has information they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number ORIS 281 12/11/14.
