Caerphilly Observer reader thanks member of the public for handing in lost keys

News | | Published: 16:00, Thursday November 13th, 2014.

A Caerphilly Observer reader has written to us to thank a member of the public for handing in his lost car keys.

Kenneth Harris said his keys were returned to him by a police officer after they were handed into the Caerphilly branch of Iceland.

Staff used his loyalty card keyring to track him down.

He said: “[The police officer] did not know who the honest person was that found them but may I take this opportunity to thank him or her.

“I asked the constable how they traced them to me. He told me that they were handed in to the Iceland store in Caerphilly.

“I have a key fob bonus card on the keyring and a scan told them the name and address of the owner. This is a good tip to anyone. Tesco bonus cards offer the same service.”

With all the current awful things going on it is good to know that there are still decent honest folk around who will go out of their way to help reunite somebody with their lost property.
