Pensioner threatened by burglar at her home in Risca

A 68-year-old woman was threatened by a burglar who broke into her home in Risca.

the break-in on Dan y Graig Road happened at around 8.30pm last night, January 22 and prompted a man hunt complete with a helicopter and police dogs.

Gwent Polcie said a man made off with cash and other items and the woman was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport as a precaution.

The man hunt saw four people arrested nearby.

A 28-year-old man from Risca was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Two men, aged 42 from Crosskeys and 26 from Blackwood, and a woman aged 51 from Blackwood were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary,with intent to steal.

They were all remanded in custody.
