A cash machine was yanked out of a post office in Abercarn by thieves using a pick-up truck.

Police are appealing for information following the break-in at Llanfach post office yesterday morning, Thursday February 5.

Four people broke into the post office, at Penrhiw Terrace, Llanfach, Abercarn, through a front door at around 4.30am.

They attached a tow rope to the free standing cash machine within the branch and used a red twin cabbed pick-up truck to pull the cash machine out of the store.

They left the area in the truck with the cash machine and a quantity of cigarettes.

The cash machine has since been found close to the Machen Mast.

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 31 5/2/15.
