A 16-year-old boy has been charged after an attempted armed robbery at Graig-Y-Rhacca post office.
A 21-year-old man has also been charged, both with attempted robbery, having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and burglary.
The local pair were arrested after the robbery on Sunday February 8.
Gwent Police said two men entered the post office at around 11.20am and demanded cash from the Postmaster. They were holding the fake gun that at the time was believed to have been a firearm.
When they were told the police were being called they left the premises. The victim was left shaken but unharmed.
They remain in custody and will appear at Newport Magistrate’s Court this morning, February 10.
