Police are warning Rudry and Van Road residents to be vigilant after a spike in burglaries and attempted break-ins in the area over the last week.
Gwent Police are warning residents to keep a closer eye on their property and report any suspicious activity following five incidents in the area in the last seven days.
An attempted Burglary at a scrap merchants on Van Road
A Karcher pressure washer and leaf blower were stolen from a shed at rudry primary School and a saddle was stolen from a farm tack room on Pentwyngwyn Road, Rudry
A farmhouse in Rudr and scrap merchants on Van Road were also targeted and diesel was also stolen from a van parked at Caerphilly Business Park on Van Road.
PC Stuart Lewis, said: “We are currently investigating each reported crime and asking residents to secure their property. In particular, those residents who own farms, outbuildings or stables.
“Extra patrols have now been put in place by uniformed and plain clothed officers. Our Roads Policing Unit will also be assisting in the area. I’d like to remind residents to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
