Caerphilly Castle will be open for free as St David’s Day is celebrated across the county borough over the weekend.
The castle is one of 17 Cadw sites that visitors can enter for free on Sunday March 1 to encourage people to connect with Welsh heritage.
Meanwhile, St David’s Day celebrations will take place across Caerphilly County Borough on February 28.
Events will take place at Hanbury Square in Bargoed, the Twyn Community Centre in Caerphilly and at Blackwood Asda and Tredegar Park in Risca from 12pm.
Welsh themed stilt walkers and free face painting will provide enjoyment at each of the four town centres.
Residents and visitors will also be treated to musical delights and traditional dance performances from a collection of local bands, choirs and community groups.
