A café owner and her family have helped raise more than £12,700 for a blood cancer charity.
Lisa Edwards, of Kerry’s Café Bar on Caerphilly’s Western Industrial Estate, raised the cash with the help of daughter Sophie and friends by organising a dinner in memory of her late husband
Kerry Edwards passed away in March 2014 just four months after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.
Around 200 people attended the event including family, friends and many of Kerry’s colleagues that he had worked with over the years. They held an auction and raffle on the night and raised £12,717.75 which included £1,400 match funding from banking group Santander’s charitable foundation.
