A grass fire on Machen mountain that burnt through the night has been extinguished, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has said.
The deliberate fire was lit on Sunday night, April 19 and, despite being put out by firefighters, re-caught yesterday morning, April 20.
The blaze covered up to 200 hectares of gorse and grass at its peak, the equivalent of around 250 football pitches.
A helicopter was used to drop water from the sky yesterday afternoon, and the fire burnt through the night before being extinguished just after 8.30am today, April 21.
