As part of the Urdd National Eisteddfod, nearly 100 primary schoolchildren from across the county borough will take part in a musical following the history of a local man called Glyndwr Michael, who played an instrumental part bringing an end to the Second World War.

Glyndwr Michael was born in Aberbargoed, and it was his corpse that was used in Operation Mincemeat to trick the Nazis into moving their troops from Sicily to Greece, giving the British Army a crucial opportunity to win valuable ground in Europe.

Tickets for Y Dyn na Fu Erioed (The Man Who Never Was) are available now on the Eisteddfod website or by calling 0845 257 1639.
