An 18-year-old man was arrested after breaching a dispersal order in Risca on Saturday May 16.
The man was excluded from an area covered by the dispersal order on May 15 and was arrested for returning to the area the following day.
Dispersal orders give police and Community Support Officer’s to remove people suspected of anti-social behaviour from a designated area and threaten them with arrest should they return.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “The dispersal order was authorised in Abercarn by the Risca inspector from 3pm on Friday May 15 to 3pm on Sunday May 17 2015 following reports from residents of anti-social behaviour, including, youths verbally abusing local people, causing a nuisance in Abercarn Library and generally intimidating the local community.”
