Abercarn community project hoping for funding from Aviva

News | | Published: 13:00, Tuesday May 19th, 2015.

A project to turn an Abercarn working men’s club into a vibrant community centre needs your votes.

The Nant Pennar Project aims to turn the club into a modern, well equipped facility that would be used as a base for community projects.

The New Life Christian Church (NLCC) purchased Nant Pennar Working Men’s Club in July last year and have applied to the Aviva Community Fund for cash to get the project off the ground.

A NLCC spokesperson said: ” With funding from Aviva, NLCC will be able to press forward with more refurbishment and expanded projects through taking on a part-time projects manager and rojects administrator.

“All activities and renovations have been done voluntarily up to this point, but these roles are needed to see faster genuine benefit to the community.”

To vote visit www.community-fund.aviva.co.uk, register your email, search for the Nant Pennar Project and give in up to ten votes. Voting closes on May 30.
