A person was rescued by firefighters after a “severe” fire in a three storey block of flats on Claude Road in Caerphilly town.
A person was trapped on the second floor after fire spread from a first floor kitchen into the stairwell today, June 9.
A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said there was a “severe fire in the kitchen and hall area and spread to the balcony and stairwell.”
They said the occupant of the first floor flat escaped before fire crews arrived but a person upstairs had to be led to safety.
Fire crews arrived at the scene at 12.34pm and fully extinguished the fire by 2.21pm.
There were no reported injuries.
